Teamwork

When I started this blog, I wanted it to document our house hunting experience.  Then it turned into a smattering of various home improvement projects and is now a full blown scrapbook.  Through it all, my intent was to make it reflect our real lives - the good and the ugly.  Looking back at my posts, I see that the majority are celebratory in nature.  Well...here's a bit of real life action from this past weekend.

We went to Saint Louis for the day.  No need to bring the dogs since we'd be back in 8 hours.  We took my car to save gas money and ended up buying four new tires for the old 1997 Honda Civic.  Thankfully, Matt tolerates my desire to document all things with much grace.

My hero changing the tire in his "church"  clothes.

After both of us took turns kicking and pulling off the rusted on wheel.

The auto repair shop that was obviously no help.

When we got back in the car and drove to the gas station to fill our flat donut tire (seriously, what else could go wrong?) I looked at Matt and said, "Can you believe we're not mad at one another?!"  That's love.  :-)

Buy your dresses after Easter.

I bought a little girl's Easter dress on super sale for $15 at JC Penney a few weeks after Easter passed.  I intend to make it into the cheapest and most killer 'vintage' flower girl dress ever.  I tried it on Olivia this weekend and the little boat neck and the simple lines are just divine.

Today I began the steps to change this dress from "Easter Delight" to "Vintage Wedding."

After:

Now that those way overdone flowers are gone, all that's left to do is to give it a cream sash to match my ivory wedding gown and we've got a totally repurposed gem.
